March 3, 2020 (7:00am - 8:00pm)

Voter pre-registration deadline is 5:00pm on February 21st.

You can stop in at the Auditor's office between 8:00 and 5:00 to register.

 

If you register after this date, you may participate in a March 3rd special election for which you’re eligible by using election day registration procedures.

Ballot Question

“Shall the County of Guthrie, State of Iowa, enter into a loan agreement and issue its general obligation bonds in an amount not exceeding the amount of $8,700,000.00, for the purpose of constructing, furnishing and equipping a County Law Enforcement Center as an addition to the County Courthouse as well as improving the Courthouse parking lot?”

Minimum Voting Age for Special Election

Individual must be eighteen (18) years of age to vote in the special election.

Locations

All 8 voting precincts will be open from 7:00am - 8:00pm

and you must vote in the precinct in which you live. Reminder: Voter ID is required.

Absentee Vote

February 3 - First day the auditors office can mail absentee ballots.

However, you can submit your request form before this date to Guthrie County Auditors Office, 200 N. 5th Street, Guthrie Center, IA  50115. Note: absentee ballots can not be forwarded so be sure to list the address the ballot should be mailed (if different from residential address) on the request form.

February 21 - Last day to request absentee ballot by mail

(written request must be received in the auditors office by 5:00pm)

March 2 - Last day to vote absentee in the office (open until 5:00pm)

March 9 - Requested absentees must be received in auditors office by noon

(must be postmarked March 2 )
